01 / A MOMENT FOR YOU
Make room
for a moment
of your own.
Work, home, the next thing on your list. A few pages of a book or a quiet morning cup can make space for yourself. Choose your daily rituals with that same care.
Food and sleep are the foundation. If you choose to add a supplement, you deserve to understand what is inside and how it is made.
Build a ritual around
a choice you understand.
That is the idea behind this pouch of Kinkatsudo Lion’s Mane. Let’s take a closer look.
Lion’s Mane fruiting bodies02 / MEET THE MUSHROOM
A distinctive mushroom.
A name to match.
Meet Hericium erinaceus. Its white, shaggy fruiting body gives Lion’s Mane its memorable name.
Kinkatsudo uses these fruiting bodies as its mushroom ingredient, with hot-water and ethanol dual extraction before encapsulation.
The same mushroom name does not mean the same ingredient or process. Let’s look at the differences.
02a / FRUITING BODY, MYCELIUM & GRAIN
Which part are
you paying for?
Fruiting body, mycelium and growing substrate are different things. Understanding them makes “100% fruiting body” a meaningful detail.
Fruiting body: the mushroom structure
The reproductive structure that forms to produce spores—in H. erinaceus, the white, shaggy structures. This is the material Kinkatsudo chooses for its extract.
Mycelium: the growing network
A network of fine fungal threads that takes up nutrients. It is a different growth form from the fruiting body, but it is still fungal material.
Grain substrate: the growing medium
Mycelium can be grown on grains such as rice or oats. When the colonized grain is dried and milled together, the ingredient includes residual grain and starch as well as mycelium. [1]
Why Kinkatsudo chooses fruiting bodies.
If you are choosing a mushroom ingredient, we want its identity to be clear. We use fruiting bodies, not a powder of mycelium and its grain substrate. That makes the source of the 860 mg of extract in two capsules explicit.
Not all mycelium ingredients contain grain: mycelium can also be separated from its growth medium. Fruiting body versus mycelium alone does not establish effectiveness; check what the ingredient contains and how it is processed.
03 / READ THE RESEARCH CAREFULLY
Know the compounds.
Understand the distinction.
When you read about Lion’s Mane compounds, pay attention to which part of the fungus was studied.
Hericenones
Hericenones are associated with fruiting bodies, while erinacines are associated with mycelium. Findings on mycelium cannot simply be treated as effects of a fruiting-body product. [2]
Beta-glucans
A group of polysaccharides found in fungal cell walls. “Polysaccharides” is a broader category, so the terms are not interchangeable. Read the compound name alongside the part of the fungus used.
This is ingredient background, not a statement of this product’s compound levels or clinical effects.
04 / FROM FRUITING BODY TO EXTRACT
Choose the mushroom.
Then do the work.
Hot-water and ethanol dual extraction.
Our process continues beyond simply grinding a mushroom.
Fruiting body
The mushroom ingredient is fruiting body, not a powder of mycelium and its grain substrate.
Hot water
For extracting water-soluble constituents.
Ethanol
Compounds differ in how readily they dissolve in water and alcohol.
Into a capsule
430 mg of extract in each plant-based HPMC capsule.
Why an extract, rather than just powder?
Start with the chitin-containing cell wall.
Fungal cells have a tough structural wall containing chitin and beta-glucans. Drying and grinding the material is different from transferring constituents into an extract. [3]
Hot-water extraction brings water-soluble constituents into a liquid. It is used to extract water-soluble polysaccharides from Lion’s Mane. Kinkatsudo uses hot-water and ethanol dual extraction, offering an extract in capsules without brewing at home. [4]
Extraction does not mean all chitin is broken down. “Dual extraction” alone does not guarantee a particular compound level, absorption rate or effect.
Inside: Lion’s Mane fruiting-body extract.
Outside: plant-derived hypromellose (HPMC).
No fillers, preservatives or colorants, apart from the capsule shell itself.
A considered formula, down to what we leave out.

05 / KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TAKING
Two capsules.
The amount, made clear.
860mg
Lion’s Mane fruiting-body extract / 2 capsules
This is the weight of the extract inside the capsules. With 120 capsules per pouch, two a day gives you approximately two months.
Knowing the ingredient, its form and its amount makes a daily choice easier to understand.

Look beyond
the word “Lion’s Mane.”
When the choices feel similar, compare the details you can actually check.
| What to check | Why it matters | Kinkatsudo Lion’s Mane |
|---|---|---|
| Species | Look for the scientific name | Hericium erinaceus |
| Part used | Fruiting body, mycelium or a mixture? | 100% fruiting-body ingredient |
| Process | Ground powder or an extract? | Hot-water + ethanol dual extraction |
| Amount | Per-capsule amount and serving size | 430 mg/capsule · 860 mg/two capsules |
| Other ingredients | Check shell ingredients and fillers separately | Plant-based HPMC shell. No fillers. |

These are label-reading criteria, not claims of superiority over a particular competing product.

08 / WHY KINKATSUDO
Something we would
choose for ourselves.
Kinkatsudo was founded by a working couple in Tokyo, with a desire to offer mushroom supplements they could choose with confidence—and explain clearly.
That is why we spell out the fruiting-body ingredient, the hot-water and ethanol extraction process, and the 860 mg of extract in two capsules.

11 / BEFORE YOU DECIDE
A few things
you may be wondering.
Are all Lion’s Mane products alike?
Species, parts, processing and amounts can differ. Ours is a dual extract of Hericium erinaceus fruiting bodies. Compare like-for-like details: species, part used, process and daily serving.
Does “100% fruiting body” include the capsule shell?
It describes the mushroom ingredient. The contents are Lion’s Mane fruiting-body extract; the shell is plant-based hypromellose (HPMC). Apart from that shell, no fillers, preservatives or colorants are used.
How soon will I notice a result?
This is a food supplement. We do not promise a particular effect or a timeline. “60-day supply” describes the quantity at the suggested serving of two capsules a day.
Will I be enrolled in a subscription?
Choose “One-time purchase” on the product page to avoid recurring deliveries. Subscription is a separate option. WELCOME10 applies only to one-time purchases and does not combine with subscription savings.
Can I pay at a convenience store?
For one-time orders, choose from the card, convenience-store and bank-transfer methods shown at checkout. Subscription payment options may differ.
What is your returns policy?
Unopened, unused products may be returned within 30 days of delivery under our returns policy. Return shipping is at your cost, except for defects or incorrect items. This is not an opened-product satisfaction guarantee.
What should I check before taking it?
Not for under-18s. If pregnant, breastfeeding or under a doctor’s care, consult your clinician before use. Check the ingredients and stop use if the product does not agree with you.
For something you choose every day.
